History
In the top menu, the second button from the right (History, a clock with an arrow) toggles the history drawer. The plain clock to its left opens the drawer for scheduled tasks and monitors instead. The history drawer lists your historical chats. The chats are ordered chronologically with the time labels "Today", "Previous 7 days", "Previous 30 days" and "Older". With nothing saved yet, the drawer says "No history items."
Hover over a chat, or move to it with Tab, to see when it last changed, as a date and time in your time zone (for example "Oct 24, 2026, 3:15 PM"). Opening a chat without sending anything leaves that time as it was. A chat you continue keeps its place in the list, which follows when it was first saved.
Titles
- Chats started with BrowseWiz Chat are titled with the start of their first message, which is replaced by a short generated title soon after.
- Chats started with your own OpenAI key or a custom model keep the start of their first message as the title: its first 82 characters, followed by "..." when it is longer.
- Scheduled task runs and monitor matches are titled after their task or monitor.
History has no search, and chats can't be renamed.
Opening and deleting chats
Click a chat to open it. The chat you were in is saved to history first. While BrowseWiz is still working in it, BrowseWiz first asks Stop the current task?: Keep working stays in the current chat, and Stop and switch stops it and opens the chat you clicked.
History items can be deleted with "x" button that appears on hover. The chat is deleted right away, without a confirmation. Deleting the chat that is open also clears it: a response still being written stops, a new empty chat starts, and the deleted chat isn't saved again.
Scheduled task runs and monitor matches
Chats from scheduled task runs show a clock icon, and chats from monitor matches show an eye icon. Hover over the icon to see what it is, when the run or match happened and, for a run, its status (for example "Scheduled run · completed · " and the time). The clock of a failed run is red.
Runs and matches are chats in History, so they count toward its 100 chats.
Is BrowseWiz doing its job for you?
When you open a completed scheduled task run or a monitor match, a card below the chat can ask "Is BrowseWiz doing its job for you?":
- Yes asks you to rate BrowseWiz on the Chrome Web Store: Rate BrowseWiz opens its reviews page in a new tab, and Not now closes the card.
- Not really opens a short form, "What should it do better?", with an optional email field. Click Send to send your feedback to the BrowseWiz team ("Thanks for telling us."). If sending fails, the card says "Couldn't send your feedback. Please try again." and keeps what you typed.
- × closes the card at any step.
The card is shown at most twice per installation, the second time no sooner than 14 days after the first, and not at all once you have answered it. It is never shown in Microsoft Edge.
Limits
History keeps your 100 most recent chats and removes the oldest when a new one is saved.
Backup and sync
With Backup sync chat history on in Options → Settings → Backup & Sync, your chats are backed up to BrowseWiz cloud storage:
- Opening the history drawer also brings in chats backed up from your other browsers.
- Deleting a chat also deletes its backed-up copy, and so does a chat removed because you have more than 100.
