Quick start

BrowseWiz emphasizes ease of use. You chat with it in your browser's side panel, which can be easily toggled and activated with either a single click on an extension button or with a keystroke. Its Options page, where you manage your account, settings, models and tools, opens in a browser tab (see Settings page). To be able to activate BrowseWiz with a single click, you need to:

  1. Click the extension button in the top-right of a browser window (Chrome, Edge).
  2. Click the pin button next to the BrowseWiz extension item in the popover widget.
  3. The BrowseWiz extension icon will now be present at your fingertips at all times.

We strongly recommend trying out the keystroke to toggle on/off the BrowseWiz side panel:

  • For Mac: Option (Alt) + B (hold the left Option/Alt key and then press "B")
  • For Windows: Alt + B (hold left Alt key and then press "B")

To change the shortcut, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts in Chrome or edge://extensions/shortcuts in Edge.

Sign in​

Whenever you're signed out, including the first time you open the side panel, a sign-in screen covers the whole side panel. Click Login or Sign Up Now, then sign in or create an account in the window that opens. The window closes on its own when you're done, and the chat is ready to use. If signing in doesn't complete, the screen says "Sign-in didn't finish. Please try again."

The sign-in screen explains: "BrowseWiz sends your messages and the pages you ask about to AI providers (Google, OpenAI, OpenRouter) to answer you. Unless you turn it off in Settings, it also collects statistics on which features you use, never your chats or pages. While you're signed in, your chats, prompts and other BrowseWiz data are backed up to BrowseWiz cloud storage (Amazon Web Services) unless you turn it off in Settings → Backup & Sync.", followed by links to the Privacy Policy and Terms. The Settings link opens Options → Settings → Privacy.

After you sign in​

  • Privacy strip: above the chat, a one-line strip says "How BrowseWiz handles your data: Privacy Policy. Unless you turn them off in Settings, BrowseWiz collects statistics on which features you use and backs up your chats, prompts and other BrowseWiz data to its cloud storage." Click × (Dismiss) to hide it. It comes back only when this notice changes.
  • Stay Updated with BrowseWiz: once you have sent more than three messages, the next time you open the side panel the Stay Updated with BrowseWiz dialog says: "Opt in to 1-2 emails/month with early feature access, advanced workflow ideas, and deep-dive guides for BrowseWiz. No spam. You can opt out anytime." Yes, send me updates turns on Email updates in Options → Settings; No, maybe later leaves it off. The dialog is shown only once, and you can change your choice in Options → Settings at any time.
