Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

With Bring Your Own Key, you can connect your own OpenAI API key to unlock access to the full range of OpenAI models directly within BrowseWiz.

Supported Models​

By providing your OpenAI API key, you gain access to all supported OpenAI models, including:

  • GPT-4o — OpenAI's flagship multimodal model, ideal for complex reasoning and content creation
  • GPT-4o mini — a lean, cost-efficient variant for quick tasks
  • GPT-5 — OpenAI's most capable model with built-in reasoning
  • o3-mini, o4-mini — optimized for STEM reasoning and technical tasks
  • o1, o3 — advanced reasoning models that think step-by-step before responding

Setup​

  1. Generate an API key at platform.openai.com/api-keys
  2. Open BrowseWiz Settings > Models
  3. Enter your API key in the BYOK section

Your API key is encrypted and stored securely in your local extension storage. It is never sent to BrowseWiz servers.
